Colwyn Borough Council will hold its regular monthly meeting on Mon, Mar 30, 2020 at 4:00 PM via teleconference to conduct any and all business. Governor Wolf and Health Secretary Issue ‘Stay at Home’ Order to Mitigate Spread of COVID-19

PUBLIC NOTICE CONCERNING COVID-19 Welcome to the Borough of Colwyn.

Due to the progression of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Colwyn Borough has declared a state of emergency in adherence to county, state and federal government recommendations. Therefore, the following actions have been taken to protect the public and prevent further spread of the illness.
• In an effort to adhere to social distancing recommendations, Borough Council has suspended its legislative meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 18th, 2020. A special meeting will be called and advertised at a later date.

• Effective Monday, March 16th, 2020 Colwyn Borough Administrative office will be closed to the public until further notice. However, office staff will be available to answer questions and mitigate resident concerns via phone and email. Residents needing to pay police or code violation tickets are encouraged to do so utilizing the drop box outside of Borough Hall.

• Essential services will continue to be provided as needed. Public works service calls will be evaluated and prioritized by the Borough Engineer and Borough Manager.

• Rental inspections scheduled between March 16th, 2020 – March 30th, 2020 will need to be rescheduled. Inspections can be rescheduled by calling (610) 717-6367 or via email at Commonwealthscheduler@LIVE.COM. Transfer inspections that are already scheduled will still be completed. However, no further transfer inspections will be scheduled until Monday, March 30th, 2020. Code enforcement will continue to monitor the activities in the borough to keep track of community conditions and address major public health and safety concerns. Permit and rental applications may be received by the borough by standard mail or email. However, only emergency permits will be processed.

• Borough trash collection will continue as scheduled.

• All events including the Electronic Recycling Event, the Strong African American Families Workshops and the 36th Annual Darby Creek Clean-Up have been postponed.

Borough Council asks that you please be diligent during these uncertain times. Please consider postponing all large gatherings including church services until after March 30th, 2020. Take special care to wash your hands, limit unnecessary social activities, regularly clean and sanitize all hard and soft surfaces and most importantly seek medical attention if you or a loved one begin to display signs of fever, cough or other flu like symptoms.
